Shameful…

PPS

Im part of the Petaling Street now! This is the good part of my posting the shameful part is after it.

Yup Petaling Street. Hahah not the ones selling fake designer wears and watch la but Project Petaling Street or PPS. PPS is one of the ways where Malaysian Blogger community can get together and tell the blog hoppers of your existence. So whenever I create a new post all I need to do is just Ping PPS, so whenever people go to the PPS site they will see excerpts of my blog and if they are interested they can click on the link to go to my blog. When you see the list of Malaysian bloggers who are part of PPS you will be surprised at the number of local bloggers around. So a little PPS 101 for you, in case there a mistake in my explanation sorry, Im new to this heheh …If you are interested go to http://www.petalingstreet.org/...

WTF ???!!! Again!

Yeah yeah ….

Seems like everyone is talking about the blackout. It was interesting how I got to know about it. First, I got 2 sms about it. One was from my fiancée and another from a friend of mine. The latter seldom text me so out of curiosity I checked his message first, sorry oh fiancée of mine. Heheh, anyway, quite shockingly his message said that the power outage is actually a strategic move by people who are trying to attack Malaysia (come on I know some of you received such message, right?). WTF??!! What power outage? My office was doing fine, ironically though.(I ll get to that in my next posting) . Next, I read my fiancée’s message. Again, I was shocked because she asked me if my office had any electricity? Once more….What power outage. Lastly I returned my boss’s phone call and surprisingly AGAIN he was asking about the power outage. Shoot what was this about? So I made a few phone calls and finally got to know that the Southern grid was down. Even up to Johore. One thing that I’d like to point out here is that, the fastest info I got about the blackout was from the internet of course. And not surprisingly the Blogs were a major source especially PPS. You can see a host of Blogs tagging the PPS and almost all were talking about the blackout. Among the notable sites who were up to date were The Star, Bernama and Reuter. Other news agencies were basically crap.

TNB???!!!WTF??!!

What’s that TNB??? HAH! TNB was so bad that even their website was down. You would have thought being the Malaysia’s premier and only power supplier; they would have been sharp enough to utilize the net in order to inform people of what happened…Well I guess unsurprisingly either they didn’t know what the root of the problem is or they could not give a fork about it. After all being the sole numero uno in Malaysia WTF do you care right?....Seriously these Blackouts are getting really embarrassing. Seriously the sms I got really affected me. Imagine if that were to happen, not surprisingly if a moron were to attack Malaysia they would think hey lets hit the most easiest and the most critical part of the country. Yeah the power supply. After all the country does not seem to have a back up power supply. Cause its happened thrice already. Well according to a reliable source TNB has a back up system but they basically don’t maintain it and don’t frigging test it (No surprises there). That’s what happened during the nation wide blackout a few years back. So I don’t think they actually did anything about it. According to my ever reliable source power supplies should be running at a 50% capacity, however in our country especially in industrial areas we are running at around 80 %– 90%. So whenever an outage occurs other places are affected too.

Malaysia? Development? No Way!

Why it is always an embarrassment whenever a national level blackout occurs. Ok here a useful tip for you. One of the easiest way to measure a country’s development is by evaluating the basic things in the country. Water and Electricity being among it and for both of em we Malaysia have problems. Did you know that national level Blackouts only happens to 3rd world countries? Yeah that’s right. For all the Twin Towers we have, MSC, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya means nothing if the 2 basic elements in life are not well manage by our country. Imagine if you are looking to outsource and set up a manufacturing plant overseas, honestly if it was me I would not go to Malaysia. Outages are costly. The blackouts are actually a reflection of our development and management of the country. So yes all of us should be ashamed that it happened. No once not twice but Thrice….

Well! It happened in the US too. However, it is interesting to note that work ground to a halt all over the city. Shows how dependent we are on electricity.
All office definitely needs to think about backups to avoid loss of work hours.
