Football Prediction of the Week

Ok Ok well from now on (if I can remember) I m gonna give some weekly prediction on the weekend’s football matches. So next week when I blog again ill know if Iam better then the fakes on Football Crazy. Ok speaking about football crazy I saw a bit of it yesterday. I just have to say it’s quite fake. Typical and what’s up with the new deft and dumb sidekick which I cant even bother to remember her name. Fork them. Anyway I m not gonna preview the entire weekend match instead ill try to predict the most anticipated matches. So for this week we ll start with one game

Liverpool vs Arseanal

Ok both teams have been finding it hard lately. Worst I guess is Liverpool. They ve just been so unlucky with injuries. Worst being Cisse who at the start of the season was an exciting prospect. Currently the strikers they have are Pongolle (dunno if that’s spelled right) and Mellor. Both are unproven and raw. Arseanal have been declining after a superb start to the season. The defense without Campbell is a suspect. When they play Cygan he tends to get caught out of position and sometimes tries to be smart when distributing the ball. Still they have the arrogant son of a gun Henry who even though is injured will still be a big threat. Another reason for the decline has a lot to do with confidence and mental strength, at the moment those area are causing them to lose focus. Funny that their problem started after their defeat to the Red Devils. Sir Alex was smart enough to not only beat them on the pitch but he was cunning enough to inflict a physiological blow after the match. He went after Arseanal by hustling them with all the niggling after match comments and complaints. That has certainly caused Arseanal to lose focus and it has been reflected on the pitch. Plus teams must have taken cue from the Devils tactics during that match. If you notice most teams did that to Arseanal, they limited their space, out hustled them and targeted their defense. Still for this match Id pick Arseanal to win because I think Liverpool’s strikers are nt good enough to do the job plus Arseanal will be keen to get back on track and I see this match to be their perfect opportunity to do so. Then again do not discount Liverpool as yet. To me they can win if they play all 3 central midfielders (Gerrard, Xabi and Haman) at the same time. Cramp up the middle of the park. If they are to rely on Haman alone to win balls then they re in trouble. Just look how Henry ran past him last season. Plus Caraggher is gona need all the help he can. Then put Kewell in the hole and just leave a striker; Pongolle maybe to chase every ball that comes his way and pressure Cygan till he cracks or maybe get a freekick for Xabi to score. The key here is to outnumber Vieara in the middle and check Henry whenever he picks up the ball from the midfield. If they manage to sustain this for a period of time Arseanal might get edgy and make mistakes. Another logic to have 3 mids is for cover. When you have good cover you will allow the wingbacks to go up. When they go up Cole and Lauren will not venture up front easily thus making it easier to contain Arseanal’s dangerous attack. So Benitez if your read this take note if you wanna win, if he doesn’t then Arseanal would win by 2 goals.

Alexander

Ok I haven’t watched the movie but so far critics hate. Then again this eclectic movie critic has not seen it yet in order to pass any judgment but I just have one thing that I just can not contain. Whats up with Alexander being blond? Typically stupid yank. Trying to change things.

Rugby and me

Stupid Astro fork you for not showing the All Blacks game. Yeah yeah I know England deserve the coverage for being the current World Champ but don’t they know the All Blacks are still a pull for all the rugby fans. I hope MiTV will have a rugby channel. If they do so, kiss my black and hairy arse Astro!

Speaking of rugby I realized I’ve not even talked Rugby for awhile. This blog started with my rugby postings but I realize the reason for this. Honestly the thrill of playing has been declining for me. I ve lost the passion and drive to continue it. There are a few reasons to it. Work being one of em. But its hard to say nowadays when I go for training its not what used to be. The fun factor is somehow lacking. I m a bit old school on this so honestly I really enjoy it when the old timers, the purist are there during training. Not that I have anything against the younger guys. To me somehow they re not that passionate about the team. In rugby and especially my team passion is a big thing. So when its not there you re gonna notice it. Funny I’m saying this cause a few years back all you can hear from me is rugby rugby. My mates even called it the rucks life. Still rugby plays a major role in my life and no matter what I still appreciate it. As one rugby coach & teacher said, rugby builds character and I seriously believe that. It did help me a lot during my student days. You know what it’s like in college. There you truly taste real freedom and the urge to be irresponsible is frigging enticing and not to mention the pressures you face during studies. So in my opinion in college you really need a release. The release usually is the problem itself. For some their release is sleep, sleep and sleep then there’s alcohol and then there is the night scene not to mention weed, porn, girls and to some, confusion (yeah certain people will know what this mean). So college is actually a vicefest if you re not careful. Which is why I owe it a lot to rugby. For me that was my release. Though rugby had its drawback it still helped me cope with life in college. Whenever I was on the field I was happy, all the shit on the day would just be forgotten. The sport also helped built friendship and camaraderie all which actually serves me in good stead till today when I m working. As I mention rugby is the ultimate team sport you re always supporting each other. The moment you stop that you know your rugby is wrong. So that knowledge of working with others really applies to this day.

Having said all of this in no way was Major an angel … No way
