Aloof....

Yowza !

Just back from a break, you see my colleague and I had to work through CNY but in return we were able to apply leave on a different day. So I spent a few days chilling, did not do much though then again a holiday is a holiday.

Last week before I took leave we watched Sepet. Hahaha … well honestly I was quite apprehensive about it. It’s a malay love story plus there was no hot chick in it so what do you expect right? I heard it was quite good but really the idea of spending my movie money on a malay movie seems a bit odd. I guess the last time I watched a malay movie was …… gosh I cant remember. Seriously but I have to confess back in the days when I was young and quite dumb I was guilty of watching Sembilu. Aaaarrgghhh! I cant believe Im admitting to it! Well it did happen my mates will crack up every time we talked about this. We can still remember after the movie where people were crying but the funniest part was when we realize a dude at the seat behind us shedding some tears too hahahah to rub it in his friends were making fun of him. Heheheh those were the days man.

Anyway we did catch Sepet, luckily there was not any good movie that I wanted to watch cause we might not have been able to watch it. Then again since my fiancée wanted to catch it what the heck she deserves to watch what she wants to right. So we bought tickets and went into the cinema, the first thing that strike me was the fact that the audience in the cinema did not comprise of only malays. Ok I am not trying to think stereotypically but it’s a fact, if it’s a malay movie the majority of the viewers would be malay. Not this movie though, there was Chinese, Mat Saleh and Indians I was quite impressed. Not that the movie had a big budget marketing drive, probably just a simple one through Bata (no wonder in the movie Orkid is wearing baju kurung and Bata shoes all the time) so the interest it managed to generate was also notable. By the way Ida Nerina and Ning was sitting in front of us in the cinema.

Ok something just happened ….
I can not continue … I need time for myself …
Enjoy the weekend …

May your days be better then mine …

Save Carey Island..

Carey Island to turn into a landfill area???!!! This is outrageous! Those who know me will understand why I am being so sentimental about Carey Island. My family was very fortunate enough to be there for a couple of years. If you bought yourself a copy of today’s Malay Mail you will see a map in the front page. In the map you ll see a heritage bungalow under item number 3. One of the bungalows is actually the bungalow house for the West Estate manager. That is where we used to live. If you turn inside you ll see the type of bungalows they had. The one pictured was the Haters Castle. Among all the bungalows that was the most special of all. If I am not mistaken its usually reserved for the Golden Plantation CEO or summtin like that. From what I understand, we were the last family to ever lived in the West Estate’s managers bungalow, as right now the company does not put the manager in that bungalow anymore. This is all the more reason why I feel so sentimental about it. We were truly blessed to be able to live there, especially now since we live in the city. With the cut throat hustle and bustle of city life, remembering our time in Carey Island never fails to pinch a nerve. I hope they maintain Carey Island. Even though it’s mostly a plantation island it has something that we currently have less and less of. All in the name of development….yeah right.

Ruckin Again

FYI this was Mondays Blog which I didn’t post. So you might wanna come back later cause I m gonna post something new again.

I am currently frigging bored. One of my pc just went kaput so I had to reinstall the Windows. No surprises there huh. To make it worse my Windows update on my machine is taking forever to complete. MOFO.Since I have not been making a lot of updates on this blog I tought why not update it. Seems like I have been getting some traffic from UiTM, seems like the person or persons seem to click on my site for Malaysian Rugby stuff. Huurrrm currently I am contemplating the idea of making a blog specifically for Rugby in particular Malaysian Rugby. If you are a Malaysian Rugby fan you would realize that there not that many local rugby resources on the net. So for those who are interested watch out for this space soon.

Speaking about rugby, I played my first ‘superleague’ game against NSW. Not New South Wales Waratah yea but Negeri Sembilan Wanderers. Well its been donkey years since we last played against them in a 15 a side game. So I needed to adjust myself to the new level. Well we re never going to win that game, ok honestly even without their 2 Fijians we would have lost. I just can’t fault anyone for that, its not that I am willing to lose a game but we could not have expected a miracle to happen. Our players were young and inexperienced and obviously we lacked the proper preparation for such tournament. However I think with a couple more games we might be able to improve. I made a huge mistake of wearing my long studs for the game. The pitch was dry and it really made walking painful let alone running. Hahaha I know some might be saying that that is an excuse by me for doing some power walk in the game. But it was true, right now I am having a case of bad blisters. Damn it I really hate it when that happens. I saw an ex team mate in that game. Well when we were in the same team we had our differences, but I didn’t realized he switched to another team. Cause if I knew before hand then it would have been extra motivation for me. Heheheh. These things happen so there is nothing to it. Funny thing about the game though is that I got a gift from my team for being among the ones who played well. Is hard to be happy when the result of the game was bad, then again I was humbled to just be recognized. I m just happy to be playing with the guys.

England Lost … Again!

Hah hah hah seems like the Chariot aint swinging to well at the moment aight? Well to be fair to them they did play decent rugby. Luck did evade them as there were times I feel that they were a bit hard done by the referee’s decision. Then again what about the try they got? The number 8 had a really good path to the try line aided of course by an American Football style blocking. England’s solution? Easy get Johnny to the best specialist and get him back on the pitch ASAP. Without him England are hopeless. You can’t expect the team to get points by relying on mauls. The backs are hopeless and not that slick as compared to others. Their passing was not accurate at crucial times. Something which I believe England is frequently guilty of. The forwards are good no doubt about that, had their backs been more clinical they would have won the match. But don’t take credit away from the Irish team, they played brilliantly to deny England the match. They had the temperament and the defensive qualities to edge out England. All in all I do think England didn’t deserve to lose the match but shit happens hahahahah ….
